The beginning and end point of the tour is the Spessartblick. From here you can go the ruins of Neuhaus Castle, formerly the armoury of the Teutonic Order. In the nature reserve around the castle you'll find the "Wachholderheide" - juniper heathland - which has been declared a natural monument. Nordic walking
Bad Mergentheim can offer two signposted Nordic walking routes. For beginners there is the 1.8 km long trail without varying gradients. Beginning at the Kneipp bath in the spa park, walk along the beautiful Säulen-Pappel Allee through the castle park, then through the outer spa park to return again to the starting point

In contrast, the 7.5 km long trail requires more stamina. The route leads diagonally through the spa park and the Japanese garden, leading steadily uphill towards Löffelstelzen. The return route leads through the Ketterwald and along Edelfingerstrasse, bringing you back to the spa park.
